Wilby Waste Collection - Clarification For Residents Regarding Changes
There has been confusion today regarding bin collections. Having sought clarification from our NNC councillor we are pleased to share with you the following:
The Assistant Director at North Northants Council has had further confirmation from the team that all collections in Wilby have been completed today as per the revised collection schedule.
Under the new schedule, all of Wilby has collections on a Friday. However, the waste stream that is collected each week is different depending on the street in which you live. Some will have general waste collected this week, others will have recycling. Residents should check their bin tag, or the bin collection calendar online, to confirm which bin to put out: https://www.wellingborough.gov.uk/info/200084/bins_rubbish_and_recycling/1115/find_my_bin_collection_day
Owing to the collection changes, those residents who were scheduled to have general waste collections next week will have had a three-week gap between general waste collections (black bin). To account for this, we offered them the option of putting their general waste bin out alongside their scheduled recycling collection today. We organised additional crews in separate vehicles to clear both bins. This arrangement was only necessary this week and will not be repeated under the new schedule. If residents missed this opportunity, then I am sorry for that and they are welcome to place additional general waste out alongside their scheduled general waste collection next week and we will clear everything.
After next week, all residents will be back onto a two-week cycle and hopefully will get into the habit of their new schedules.
I hope this clarifies the situation. Our thanks to all residents and elected Members for their patience and understanding as we make these changes.
