Wellingborough Park Gets A Makeover

Wellingborough Neighbourhood Policing Team

Police Community Support Officers Craig Blacha & Joshua Unsworth part of Wellingborough Neighbourhoods Policing Team supported Northamptonshire Police's crackdown on serious organised crime,branded Operation Viper.

This week the officers visited a hotspot for crime and anti-social behaviour and conducted a weapons sweep and a litter pick in the vicinity.

During the summer months a large weapon was recovered from behind a hedge by PCSO's and a small bag of cannabis was also recovered and destroyed from this small park in a residential street in Wellingborough.

Last week Community Support Officers also stopped & searched two youths under 16 in possession of alcohol in this area and disposed of the vessels and safegurding completed,this area is also affected by anti-social drinking and is part of Wellingborough's Public Spaces Protection Order.

Officers spoke to several residents in the area about Operation Viper and gave basic crime prevention advice on how to protect their properties and how to report suspicious activity in the area.

The officers were pleased to report that no weapons were found albeit two bags of litter were collected which included glass bottles and drug paraphernalia from the small recreational area,Eastfield Road Street Watch group said on Twitter "Brilliant Work".
